Guidelines
Welcome to our guidelines area. You can find guidelines in the following areas:
- General guidelines—this is a document that simply lists some general guidelines.
- LOI (letter on intent) guidelines—this document lists the questions that are asked as a part of our LOI or letter of intent. You may wish to print out a copy of this document and use it as a guide as you complete your LOI. You can prepare your responses ahead of time and cut and paste them into the appropriate text box on the LOI form. Please note: all form text boxes have character limits (and, yes, spaces are considered a character). If you use a word processor to prepare your responses, use the “character counter” to make sure you stay within our text box character limits. We impose these character limits as a way of encouraging you to create focused and economical responses.
- Full Proposal guidelines—this document lists the questions that are asked as a part of our Full Proposal. You may wish to print out a copy of this document and use it as a guide as you complete your Full Proposal. You can prepare your responses ahead of time and cut and paste them into the appropriate text box on the Full Proposal. Character limits (see LOI description above) apply to the Full Proposal text boxes as well.
- Follow-up Report guidelines—this document lists the questions that are asked as a part of our grant Follow-up Report. You may wish to print out a copy of this document and use it as a guide as you complete your grant Follow-up Report. Again, character limits apply.
- Organizational Fitness guidelines—this document outlines how our Foundation goes about assessing Organizational Fitness. Throughout the entire grant application and review process we look for information that speaks to the organization’s Organizational Fitness. On occasion, the Foundation may ask for additional specific information that speaks to Organizational Fitness.
- Budget guidelines—to streamline the grant application process, we ask for budget information on a case-by-case basis depending on the information provided as a part of the LOI. If the Foundation asks an organization to provide budget information, this document provides guidelines outlining how we would like budget information to be formatted.
- Example LOI, Full Proposal and Follow-up reports—this document contains an example of a successful LOI, Full Proposal and Follow-up report (used by permission). Feel free to use these examples as guidelines as you prepare your forms.
If as you go through the grant application, tracking and reporting process you feel that additional guideline documents would have been of help, please use the Contact Us button above to let us know and we will see about adding these types of guideline documents to this area.
